Preliminary AML Check of Cryptocurrency
An AML check is an analysis of a cryptocurrency address or transaction to identify potential risks, including suspicious sources of funds, high-risk indicators, sanctions exposure, and other factors that may affect the processing of a transaction.
The check is performed using the AML Bot | mexm.io service.
We recommend checking your wallet before sending funds — the first check is free.
A preliminary AML check allows you to assess potential risks in advance and reduce the likelihood of delays, suspension, or additional verification during the AML/CFT compliance process.
Why a preliminary AML check is important
This type of check is especially useful in the following cases:
- if you are about to receive cryptocurrency and want to assess the source of funds;
- if you received a wallet address from a counterparty and want to verify it before sending funds;
- if you plan to transfer funds to an exchange, payment platform, or exchange service;
- if you want to reduce the risk of transaction delays or additional checks.
Please note that a preliminary AML check does not guarantee approval of a transaction, as different services apply their own compliance standards. However, it helps identify potential risk factors in advance.
How to prepare for an AML check
- cryptocurrency asset and network;
- sender’s wallet address;
- TXID (if you need to check a specific transaction).
It is important to sеlect the correct asset and network, as the accuracy of the report depends on this.

What to look for in the AML report
- high-risk indicators: sanctions, fraud, stolen funds, hacking activity;
- share of funds linked to risky sources;
- repetition of suspicious activity;
- relevance and nature of detected risk labels.
Pay attention to the following risk categories: DARK SERVICE, SCAM, STOLEN, MIXING (MIXER), SEXTORTION, RANSOMWARE, HACK, PHISHING, TERRORISM FINANCING, FRAUD, BLACKLIST, STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION, CYBERCRIME ORGANIZATION, NARCOTICS, CHILD ABUSE, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, SANCTIONS, Protocol Privacy.
The presence of such labels or a risk score above 50% may indicate elevated risk and can lead to transaction suspension under the AML/CFT Policy.
Important information
- preliminary AML checks are informational only;
- results do not rеplace internal AML/CFT procedures;
- transactions may be suspended if risks are detected;
- additional verification may be required.
